GIVING TUESDAY

As we enter this season of gratitude, we want to pause and thank you. Your generosity this year has brought hope, joy, and nourishment to the children we serve in Mogtedo. Because of you, hundreds of students are learning, growing, and dreaming of a brighter future. You have become part of their story — and they feel it every single day.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re inviting you into something even more transformative: 🌱 Helping our students build their very first school garden.

A school garden will give students hands-on experience in producing their own food and learning the vocational skill of farming. As 80% of jobs in Burkina Faso revolve around agriculture, this endeavor will not only strengthen food security and reduce meal costs but also connect classroom learning to real-life agricultural practices that shape their future.

Our Goal: $2,500 for the garden project.

With Your Gift, We Will Purchase

With your support, we will acquire the essential tools and infrastructure to make the garden:

Your gift will help us:

✅ Teach students how to grow vegetables

✅ Provide hands-on agricultural skills (vital for future jobs in Burkina Faso)

✅ Strengthen food security at the school

✅ Connect students with local farmers, parents, and technicians

✅ Reduce the cost of student meals by producing ingredients on-site

✅ Instill responsibility, teamwork, and confidence through learning

What Will Grow in the Garden?

Our agricultural program includes detailed guidance for growing:

🍅 Tomatoes • 🌶️ Peppers • 🧅 Onions • 🥬 Cabbage • 🥗 Lettuce and more

Students will learn the ins and outs to gardening. From spacing seeds, understanding different watering schedules, natural manure processes, to even safe pest control. Every vegetable harvested will be used directly in the meals we cook for them — ensuring no child sits in class on an empty stomach.

Why It Matters Right Now

Agriculture — especially vegetable farming — is one of the fastest-growing sources of income in Burkina Faso. By equipping students with these skills early, we’re giving them a foundation that can provide stability and opportunity for years to come.

Your gift doesn’t just grow vegetables — it grows confidence, dignity, and hope.

Your generosity has been a blessing to Mogtedo. This Giving Tuesday, it can plant something that will feed both hearts and futures.
